Andreas Wilcke
Andreas Wilcke studied acting at the Schauspielschule Charlottenburg from 2003 to 2006. Until 2008, he appeared in stage productions at the Theaterkapelle Berlin, the Theaterforum Kreuzberg and the Studiobühne Ritterstraße. He also had leading and supporting roles in several short films, and had minor parts in the low-budget thriller "Warum Du schöne Augen hast" (2008) and Til Schweiger's "Schutzengel" (2012).
In 2010, Wilcke began work on his documentary "Die Stadt als Beute", on which he served as producer, author, DoP and director. Over the course of several years, he chronicled the effects the ongoing real estate boom, constantly raising rents and the overall gentrification have on Berlin. "Die Stadt als Beute" premiered at the 2016 Filmfestival Max-Ophüls-Preis and was released in the summer of the same year.
