The Salt of the Earth

Documentary on famous Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado, who for four decades has captured world events in his pictures. Covering wars, famines, displacement and destruction, the human suffering he witnessed almost crushed his soul. Therefore, ten years ago, he started the gigantic project "Genesis", a photographic journey to life's origins, which since then has taken him to the last untouched, paradisiac places on earth.

Wim Wenders, himself a long-time admirer of Salgado, has teamed up with the photographer's son Juliano Ribeiro Salgado to portray the life and work of the sensitive artist.
