Born in Lörrach in Germany in 1955. He studied social and therapeutic pedagogy, working at the same time as an arts journalist and photographer for publications such as Transatlantik, epd-film and Sounds. Having subsequently joined public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk as a writer on their TV series "Telekolleg: Biologie", he has been working in their School and Education editorial department since 1984.
