Alessandro Melazzini holds Italian and German citizenship and has lived in Germany since the 1990s. After studying Political Economics at Bocconi University in Milan and Philosophy at the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg, he worked as a freelance cultural correspondent for various news agencies and newspapers. As a filmmaker he made, among others, the documentary "Munich, Italy. Stories of Arrival in Germany" (2011). In 2013 he produced Angelo Bozzolini's "The Italian Character", which screened at international festivals in Vancouver, Rome and Palm Springs, among others. He is currently working on "Like a River", a documentary about Jamaican music in northern Italy.
