Huelya, a young Turkish girl torn between two cultures, lives against her will at her uncle′s place in Turkey. Huelya runs away from her uncle′s house. She wants to return to Germany where she lived with her father and went to school only a short time ago.

The tragic heroine Huelya leads us on a magical oriental odyssey through Turkey. On this journey, she meets different people who save her life, sometimes at the very last minute. She ends up in prison and, finally, in a psychiatric hospital. In this hospital, time and personal needs have ceased to exist. All of a sudden, Huelya′s family appears and even her German girl friend who has organized this meeting in the hospital. Huelya is discharged and can return to Germany. In Germany, however, Huelya′s odyssey rapidly proceeds to its end with her final loss of identity.
