Summary


Poste Restante Buenos Aires


Rupert Troellner is a would-be finance broker who keeps his head above water with some rather shady business. His wife Mirta, who comes from Argentina, does not like this at all. Nor can she come to terms with the mentality and bureaucracy of the Germans. She feels betrayed and neglected by her husband. One day she decides to return to Argentina with their daughter
Maria-José. Acting on the advice of his best friend, Rupert follows and
attempts to persuade her to return to Germany with him. He promises
that when they get back a beautiful new flat will be waiting for them.
Unfortunately, nothing has come of this when they arrive, and the whole
family is obliged to live in a garden house for a while. Mirta still
forgives Rupert. In the garden idyll, the two of them come to the
conclusion that what is missing in Buenos Aires is a Biergarten ...
