Cold Homeland
Seven hundred years ago the region on the Baltic between the Vistula and Memel rivers was populated by a people - the Pruss - who later gave their name to the area: Prussia. In 1945 the northern part of the region fell to the Soviet Union, becoming the Kalingradskaja Oblast: a Russian enclave wedged in between Lithuania and Poland.
