Summary
Loriot's second film for the movie screen: Heinrich Lohse, a department manager of Deutsche Rohrwerke, retires from his professional life that he had led with Prussian accuracy in order to dedicate his released organizational capacities to the family's household. But his wife Renate is everything but happy. Indeed, several pallets of mustard may be cost-effective but they are hardly practical for a three person household. Several more funny and chaotic episodes at the Lohse home follow – featuring subscribed scrubbing brushes, one-on-one interviews with members of Jehova's Witnesses, and a film crew that occupies the family home to lasting consequences. Furthermore, a marital strife is looming large over the heads of Renate and Heinrich Lohse. And to make things even worse, the 80th birthday of Heinrich's mother-in-law is rapidly approaching.
