Susanne und der Zauberring

Summary

Susanne is twelve years old and not exactly self-assured. She is a dreamer and feels excluded from her classmates. When she tells an older lockkeeper about her problems, he understands her immediately and offers a solution: He presents her with a magic ring that is supposed to help her – the only condition being that she must make it her confidant. Since Susanne strongly believes in its power, the ring soon starts to make an impact. She gets better grades in school and even gets to see a real camel. Although the ring does not always work, Susanne feels confident about its power. Since the magic ring has helped Susanne to become more self-assured, she does not care much when it is stolen by a magpie. By now, Susanne has comprehended that, first of all, one must believe in oneself.
