Max Simonischek was born in Berlin on October 19 1982. From 2003 until 2007, the son of actors Charlotte Schwab and Peter Simonischek studied acting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. During that time, he already appeared on stage and in film and television. Shortly after becoming a company player at the Viennese Theater in der Josefstadt in 2007, he joined the ensemble of Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin. He left the ensemble in 2009, but frequently returned as a guest player.
Along with his stage career, Simonischek also regularly appeared in film and TV productions. He had leading roles in the drama "Tausend Ozeane" (LU/CH), the two-part TV movie "Hindenburg" (2011) and Markus Imboden's "Der Verdingbub" (D/CH, 2012). He also played a police detective in the TV thriller "Die Tote ohne Alibi" (2012), and starred in the fairy tale adaptation "Die Schöne und das Biest" (2012).
In Markus Imboden's 2013 adaptation of the novel "Am Hang", Simonischek plays a lovesick man who suddenly faces the ex-husband of his former lover.
