He was assistant director to Jörg Adolph (associate lecturer at HFF) for his documentary feature "Die große Passion" (2011) and again for Adolph's and Anja Pohl's documentary film "Making of »Heimat«" (2013). Bücheler's feature-length graduation film "Mission Control Texas" (2014) about the Texan talk show "The Atheist Experience" was screened at several festivals and won a prize at the DOK.fest Munich.
