Biography

Christian Ehrich, born 1980 in Frankfurt (Oder), studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst 'Ernst Busch' in Berlin until 2008. During this time he made appearances on stage at the Deutsches Theater and the Maxim Gorki Theater. He also had his first role in a feature film as a student: In Dietrich Brüggemann's award-winning adolescent comedy "Neun Szenen" (2006) he played the leading role of a high school graduate in love. After completing his studies, Ehrich worked at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar from 2008 to 2011. Among his numerous roles there were the title character in Büchner's "Woyzeck", the spirit Ariel in Shakespeare's "The Tempest" and the Marquis von Posa in Schiller's "Don Karlos". In 2011 he transferred to the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and since the 2014/15 season he has been a member of the Staatstheater Kassel’s ensemble. There he stood on stage in Yasmina Reza's "Life x 3", played Rosencrantz in Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and Bruno Mechelke in Hauptmann's "The Rats".

From 2009, Ehrich also appeared occasionally in television and cinema productions. He took on smaller supporting roles in Dietrich Brüggemann's "Renn, wenn du kannst" ("Run If You Can", 2010) and "Drei Zimmer/Küche/Bad" ("Move", 2012) and in Christian Schwochow's "Westen" ("West", 2013). In Philipp Eichholtz' "Liebe mich! ("Love Me!", 2014), he starred in a leading role as the new partner of a selfish, immature woman. He appeared in guest roles in series such as "Notruf Hafenkante", "SOKO Köln" as well as in "Sturm" (2017), an episode of the popular German crime series "Tatort". Dietrich Brüggemann worked with Ehrich again in the experimental "Tatort" episode "Murot und das Murmeltier" (2018), in which Ehrich played the leading role of a psychotic bank robber. On the big screen he was seen shortly afterwards in Philipp Eichholtz' "Kim hat einen Penis" ("Everything Always All the Time", 2018), as a listless partner of a successful woman who confronts him with the fact that she now has a penis.
