Summary
In this deliberately enlightening science thriller, chemist Michael Brandt travels to Australia disguised as a private citizen to purchase land at the "beautiful end of the world" on behalf of an international chemical company. The land is to be used as an industrial site for the construction of a subsidiary factory. This factory will produce highly toxic pesticides that have already been banned in Europe and the U.S., but can still be sold in the Third World at considerable profit. Under the influence of stewardess Elaine and her brother, radical eco-activist Craig, Brandt's worldview changes. Eventually, he attempts to sabotage the activities of his employers.
