Roberto Rossellini was born in Rome in 1906 and died in 1977. Widely regarded as the father of neo-realist cinema, a selection of his films includes: "Open City" (1945), "Paisan" (1946), "Germany Year Zero" (1948), "Stromboli" (1950), "Where Is Freedom" (1954), "Fear" (1954), "Escape by Night" (1960), "Viva l"Italia" (1961), "The Messiah" (1976), among others.
