Biography

Tino Mewes, born April 5, 1983, in Berlin, studied acting at Theaterwerkstatt Charlottenburg and, from 2001 to 2004, at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. Meves started his movie career already in 2001 with a leading role in Almut Getto"s love drama "Fickende Fische" ("Do Fish Do It?"), that won the award of the prime minister of the Saarland at the 23rd Max Ophuels film festival in 2002. Following his debut Meves starred in the ARD movie "Erste Liebe" ("First Love", 2002), in the feature film "Die Nacht der lebenden Loser" ("Revenge of the Teenage Zombies", 2003), and in the TV production "Delphinsommer" (2004), alongside Anna Maria Mühe. In 2003, Mewes was nominated as most popular actor für the New Faces Award. In the following year, he became a cast member of Hamburg"s Thalia Theater where he stayed for two seasons and performed in "Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn" (as Tom Sawyer) and in "Mein Kampf".

When he finished his second season in Hamburg, Mewes returned to the movies and TV productions – and was since seen in the feature films "Der Rote Baron" ("The Red Baron", 2006) and (in a minor role) in "Die Welle" ("The Wave", 2007) as well as in TV productions such as "Das Wunder von Berlin" or "Stolberg" zu sehen. In 2008, Mewes played a leading role in the feature film "Zweier Ohne" ("Coxless Pair"). Besides his work for movies, TV and theatre productions, Tino Mewes is the guitarist of his band "Lado Youngler".
