Biography
Eckhard Rhode was born in Oldenburg in 1959. From 1980 on, he worked as an author in Hamburg and published numerous poems, plays and essays. Heinz Emigholz" experimental films "Die Basis des Make-Up" (1979-1985) and "Die Wiese der Sachen" (1974-1988) were based on works by Rohde, who also appears personally on screen. He is also featured in two films by Klaus Wyborny. In Harald Bergmanns feature film "Brinkmanns Zorn" (2006), Rohde embodies the late poet Rolf Dieter Brinkmann, who played a significant role in Rohde"s own literary work.
