Biography
Simon Donatz was born in Munich in 1984. The son of actor, writer and director Josef Bierbichler grew up in an inn in Ambach and already as a teenager made his screen debut playing his father's son in Tom Tykwer's "Winterschläfer" ("Winter Sleepers", 1997). Yet Donatz at first didn't pursue an acting career apart from his leading role in the short "Zapped" (2004). Instead he became a restaurateur, opening the inn "Trumpf oder Kitsch" in Munich in 2015.
Donatz eventually returned to acting to star opposite his father in the epic family drama "Zwei Herren im Anzug" (2018), an adaptation of Josef Bierbichler's novel "Mittelreich".
