Lara - My Years with Boris Pasternak
The film recounts the life and love of Olga Ivinskaya for Boris Pasternak from the first time they met in 1947 to his death on 30 May 1960. Olga Ivinskaya becomes the great love of his life, and he leaves a literary memorial to her with the character of Lara in "Doctor Zhivago".
It is not an easy love affair because Pasternak is not prepared to kowtow to the system and is soon being monitored by the omnipresent power apparatus. Admittedly, his fame and popularity as a writer do protect him, but his love ought to make him vulnerable and open to attack - or so his opponents think ...
