Biography
Susanne Meures is a documentary director with an MA in documentary from the Zurich University of the Arts and has extensive experience as a director of photography for various print media such as Dazed & Confused, Sleaze Magazine, Die Zeit Magazin, Intersection Magazine and Die Weltwoche. She also works as an Arts Editor for Switzerland's leading Sunday broadsheet NZZ am Sonntag and FRAME Magazine.
After shooting several award-winning short docs for Channel 4 and Al Jazeera, her first documentary feature "Raving Iran" was a big success. It has been screened at over 100 festivals including the Berlinale, Hot Docs Toronto, Vision du Réel Nyon, and has won numerous awards including the First Steps Award, Zurich Film Prize and the Advancement Award at the German Documentary Awards. In "Raving Iran" Sue follows Anoosh and Arash, two DJs at the centre of Tehran's underground techno scene who are organizing one last manic rave in the Persian desert before departing on an incredible journey.
