Tilman Döbler, born in Berlin in 2006, gained his first acting experience as a small child in a private theatre group. He made his big screen debut with a small role in Bernadette Knoller's award-winning father-daughter story "Ferien" (2016). He then played a bigger supporting role as the youngest son of the title family in the comedy "Wir sind die Rosinskis" (2016, TV). While shooting this film he met the musician Roman Geike - and took over the leading role in the music video for his song "Immun".
Tilman Döbler played his first leading film role in the TV production "Zuckersand" ("Sugar Sand", 2017), about the close friendship of two ten-year-olds in the GDR at the end of the seventies. The film won several awards, among them the renowned Grimme Prize that Döbler won together with his co-star Valentin Wessely, author-director Dirk Kummer and author Bert Koß. Döbler's next film was also set in the GDR: "Ballon" (2018, director: Michael Herbig) told the story of a spectacular escape of two East-German families to the West in 1979, with Döbler potraying the son of one of the families.
The following year he starred as a shrewd outsider in the title role of the children's film "Alfons Zitterbacke: Das Chaos ist zurück" ("Alfons Zitterbacke", 2019), based on the popular GDR children's books.
