Summary
"A film about the dynamics between madness and method": At a time of big data aggregation and the NSA scandal, people are over-sensitized when it comes to digital surveillance. That wasn't always the case: In the past, people who feared being wire-tapped or did not trust the invisible data stream were quickly deemed paranoid. But what once qualified as conspiracy fiction has apparently become a reality – and this just seems to be the beginning.
In his documentary, Niels Bolbrinker visits the research departments of leading manufacturers of military and surveillance technology, where new high-end sensors are developed to make total control a possibility. In addition to this, he interviews people who suffer from paranoia and believe that they are constantly being watched and remote-controlled by unseen forces. Thus the film combines and juxtaposes scientific facts and fantasy in an unusual, intriguing way.
